AlNiCo Magnets

AlNiCo magnetic material is an alloy of Aluminum-Nickel-Cobalt. It possesses an excellent temperature stability and high residual induction, and relatively high energies characterize. They have a low Coercive Force that limits their applications in many cases. The corrosion resistance of AlNiCo is excellent, and no surface treatments are required. However, they are easily plated for cosmetic reasons if required.
Edgetech Industries, Magnetics Division provides AlNiCo magnets with following grades and products: AlNiCo Bar and Horseshoe Magnets.
Casting and sintering are two major processes used to manufacture the AlNiCo magnets.
-Cast magnets may be manufactured in complex shapes, such as horseshoes, not possible with other magnet materials.
-Sintered magnets offer slightly lower magnetic properties, but better mechanical characteristics than cast. It is hard and brittle, machining or drilling cannot be processed by ordinary methods. Holes are usually cored in at the foundry, and magnets are cast close to final size and then finish machined to closer tolerances.
